My role included the following:
- Preparation and Review:
- Collaborate with authors to ensure that manuscripts meet the journal’s guidelines, including formatting, structure, and content requirements.
- Review manuscripts for grammatical accuracy, clarity, and adherence to the journal’s style guidelines.
- Work with authors to address any issues identified during the review process.
- Submission Process:
- Assist authors in preparing submission packages, which may include cover letters, author contributions, disclosures, and copyright information.
- Navigate the online submission systems of various journals to submit manuscripts, ensuring all required information and files are provided accurately.
- Communication and Follow-Up:
- Communicate with journal editors, handling queries related to submissions, revisions, and decisions.
- Coordinate responses to reviewers’ comments and suggestions, working closely with authors to address feedback.
- Tracking and Reporting:
- Maintain a comprehensive record of submissions, including submission dates, journal details, and communication history.
- Provide authors with regular updates on the status of their submissions, including acknowledgment of receipt, review progress, and final decisions.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all submitted materials meet the ethical and technical standards set by the journal and the broader academic community.
- Verify accuracy of metadata, citations, references, and supplementary materials.
- Research Ethics and Compliance:
- Familiarize oneself with ethical guidelines, such as responsible authorship, conflicts of interest, and proper citation practices.
- Ensure adherence to ethical and regulatory standards, including obtaining necessary approvals for research involving human subjects or animals.
- Stay Updated:
- Stay informed about updates to journal submission guidelines, policies, and industry trends.
- Adapt to changes in submission platforms and systems to ensure a smooth submission process.
- Training and Support:
- Educate authors on best practices for manuscript preparation and submission.
- Provide guidance on responding to reviewers’ comments and revisions.
